ADVENTURA QUEEN’S PEARLS REVIEW – CALIFORNIA

Summary: Wide open draw. The noticeably light weight in the hand has me nervous because in my experience, an under filled cigar either means it’s a bundle stick or Cuban (Small Batch legerdemain?). Lighting up, the mouthfeel is buttery smooth. Flavor wise, cinnamon, freshly baked bread, and banana actualize a pleasant surprise as they transmute into melt-in-your-mouth Krispy Kreme doughnuts.  Sumptuously scrumptious.

I’d like to formally apologize to the blender and roller of this cigar for my initial trepidation; this cigar tastes like quality and the razor-sharp construction could cut through concrete.  The smooth mouthfeel is now a bit chalky which makes me want to be sipping on a lil’ sumpin’ sumpin’.  Corn bread sweetness comes to the forefront in the final third with a ginger spice at the finish.  I’m about it.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: Buying a garage sale suit jacket and then discovering a wad of Benjamins in the pocket.

Pairing Suggestion: Coffee with Irish cream.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: Box.

ADVENTURA QUEEN’S PEARLS REVIEW – WISCONSIN

Summary: This cigar brought a flavor profile of peanut, hay, sugary sweetness, a bit of floral, lemon, and caramel. The flavors didn't change much throughout the experience, but they were quite enjoyable.

The burn and draw were both excellent. Construction was right on point.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: Breakfast.

Pairing Suggestion: Light roast coffee.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: Five pack.

Blind Cigar Reviews by Small Batch Cigar

ADVENTURA QUEEN’S PEARLS REVIEW – OREGON

Summary: This slender, I’m guessing double corona size, cigar has a very light brown wrapper.  The leaf is smooth and has some very light scents of hay and vanilla.  From the smell, weight, appearance and cold draw of this cigar, it is taking on a very Davidoff-esque personality.

Things start out with a slightly mineral laden mix of vanilla, bread, and mild coffee with a heavy dose of creamer.  It has a very open draw and smooth retro hale.   The retro hale carries the mineral notes as well but it’s not off putting.

Moving into the middle section of this stick I’m greeted with a creamy and slightly citrusy mix of dry grass, vanilla, coffee and almond.

The retro hale remains smooth and the citrus distinctly pronounced as lemon. There is a nice finish of white pepper heat in the sinuses.

The final section really isn’t changing a whole lot.  It’s full of the same creamy vanilla notes joined with bread and dry hay notes.  But listen, that’s not a bad thing in my opinion.  This is a solid morning stick or a great one to offer a new cigar smoker.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: Mild flavored smokes with a reliable profile.

Pairing Suggestion: Coffee in the morning or Kahlúa and cream in the evening.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: Box.

Participants in this blind review were completely unaware of the cigar they were evaluating until all submissions were received and processed. Each participant was asked to answer a summary paragraph, an if/than statement, a pairing suggestion, and a purchase suggestion. Cigars were provided by Small Batch with only the expectations of candid responses. All pictures, information, and formatting were completed by a Coordinator outside of the reviewing process.
