FIAT LUX REVIEW – CALIFORNIA
Summary: Homemade sourdough bread (so not very sour) and cream get things going. Pecans join the brunch party an inch down while the burn line and ash handle their mimosas and behave beautifully.
Halfway through, the flavors remain consistent. No other tasting notes come to mind as I approach the end—simple, smooth, solid.
If You Like That, You Might Like This: A row of Christmas cards on the mantle.
Pairing Suggestion: Coffee.
Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: Five pack.
FIAT LUX REVIEW – WISCONSIN
Summary: This cigar brought flavor notes of cereal grain, pepper, peanut, cream, cocoa, and espresso. The retro hale was very chocolatey. Most puffs had a nice creaminess accompanied by other flavor notes and followed by a long peppery finish.
Construction was on point - no issues at all. It burned nicely and drew well.
If You Like That, You Might Like This: A smooth draw followed by a long peppery finish
Pairing Suggestion: Coffee.
Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: Five pack.

FIAT LUX REVIEW – OREGON
Summary: Robusto. Nice looking wrapper. Near perfect resistance in draw. Hay and tea leaves.
The torch touches leaf… notes of wood, salted peanut, cardamom and leather with a nutty finish; like a handful of mixed nuts from the end table at Aunt Betty’s house during the holidays. The retro hale is smooth, a bit peppery, and carries a mixture of wood and leather. There’s a moderately citrus undertone to the retro hale profile.
Entering the middle section and the ash is still hanging on. Impressive. The profile is decidedly a bit less diverse. Wood notes along with a very citrus laden mixture of nuts and hay. There is a touch of heat in the retro hale but the flavors there mimic the main profile. It feels “stuck” on the same tasting notes.
Final portion remains a slightly salty mix of peanut, wood, and hay along with some added hints of cinnamon. I would’ve loved some more pronounced transitions in the profile because the construction and performance have been too notch.
If You Like That, You Might Like This: Peanut brittle… extra peanuts.
Pairing Suggestion: Old fashioned.
Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: Single.
Participants in this blind review were completely unaware of the cigar they were evaluating until all submissions were received and processed. Each participant was asked to answer a summary paragraph, an if/than statement, a pairing suggestion, and a purchase suggestion. Cigars were provided by Small Batch with only the expectations of candid responses. All pictures, information, and formatting were completed by a Coordinator outside of the reviewing process.
