LAMPERT 1675 AZUL REVIEW – CALIFORNIA
Summary: This matte, brown wrapper reminds me of a Milky Way bar. Upon ignition, I get red pepper and leather. An inch down and sweet BBQ sauce blasts my palate off to flavor town!
The construction is stellar as I soar into the second half. An out-of-this-world herbal-strawberry note harmonizes perfectly with buttered toast. This may not be made with tobacco from Mars, but the enjoyment factor landed me in the stars.
If You Like That, You Might Like This: Saturn’s rings.
Pairing Suggestion: Scotch.

LAMPERT 1675 AZUL REVIEW – WISCONSIN
Summary: This cigar brings notes of gingerbread, cinnamon, clove, cream, oak, cereal grain, vanilla, raisin, umami, and a spice on the lips that turns into a slight bitter-sweetness.
The burn was wavy at times, but never problematic. The draw was on the snug side bug, again, not problematic. No real issues with construction.

LAMPERT 1675 AZUL REVIEW – OREGON
Summary: Smelling toast with honey on the wrapper. It has a slight oily sheen to it and is light in the hand.
Starting with oak wood notes, leather and some dry grass flavors. There’s also a touch of sweetness in the profile making me wonder if there’s more honey hiding in there. The retro hale carries very little pepper heat but offers the same honey sweetness. In the finish there’s almost a little bit of mint? Interesting.
Entering the middle portion with a great burn line and solid ash. Tasting light coffee notes, honey, leather and a very mild grilled meat flavor. There is still very little pepper heat in the retro hale but it’s smooth and still offering that long, sweetish finish with just a little bit of mint.
The final section seems to have a small tunnel… things are heating up. The wood and coffee notes are joined by a light floral flavor now but there is just a hint of bitterness in the mix. Guessing it’s the heat, not the leaf. The retro hale is warm, smooth, and transferring some of that heat to the sinuses for sure.
If You Like That, You Might Like This: Well-balanced cigars with smooth flavors and great construction.
Pairing Suggestion: Mocha in the a.m. or a chocolaty porter in the evening.
Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: 5-pack.
