PATINA ANNIVERSARY REVIEW – DOM

Summary: This cigar starts with my favorite flavor duo: red pepper and brown sugar. Two inches of stacked ash down, the flavors relax to Cheerios (no honey nut and no nut, honey).

Halfway through, Cheerios stays consistent, but hold the milk and add dark roast coffee instead. While I enjoy a hearty grain cereal, this cigar could use a sweet drink pairing to really set it off.

Patina 5 Year Anniversary Review

PATINA ANNIVERSARY REVIEW – BEN

Summary: Adorned with a reddish-brown wrapper accompanied by black pepper, dried fruit, and leather notes to start. These flavors last all of the first and halfway into the second where a nice cherry-chocolate note appears. Ash white and flakey as snow. The last 2 inches heats up a bit both in touch and in aroma. Black pepper to close.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: The pleasure of a second cigar for the evening

Pairing Suggestion: Ice cold sparkling refreshment

Perceived Strength: Medium+

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: 5-pack

Patina Anniversary Cigar Review

PATINA ANNIVERSARY REVIEW – TED

Summary:  This week’s cigar is starting out with a nice bold mixture of coffee and cocoa. There’s also a slightly sharp bread note mimicking sourdough followed by a mild fruit flavor.  Swear I tasted a little raspberry note.  The retro hale is amazing too.  Just a bit spicy and warm with wood, bread and a touch of sweetness.  The draw is tighter than I’d like, but the ash is solid and the burn is just fine.

Into the middle section and I’m tasting more wood, less coffee and cocoa, more tart fruit notes and a warm mix of baking spices and toasted bread.  Still a bit tight on the draw, but smoking this stick is effortless otherwise.  The finishing flavors are thin on the palate but long lasting.

Finishing off with walnut, bread and wood at the base of the profile.  Cameo appearances by the fruity tartness, smooth leather, a touch of pepper and some dry cocoa in the finish.  It’s odd to have the fruity notes with the dark notes, but I am enjoying this one.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: Cigars that seem to defy the rules

Pairing Suggestion: Coffee with just a splash of Irish cream

Perceived Strength: Medium

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: 5-pack
