ROMA CRAFT BAKA REVIEW – DOM
Summary: The cap flies off this fun-sized smoke. Chocolate, hazelnut, and honey prove that nice things come in small packages. The retro hale slings the perfect amount of spice while my palate is confused somewhat by a new tasting note that just barely escapes the clutches of dry January: bourbon.
Halfway in, this cigar puts out some serious creaminess. There’s some je ne sais quoi about this cigar that’s interesting but definitely very weird. I hate French (the language, not the people or their fries) and this is America, so I’m going to shoot from the hip and call it Sweethearts candy. Cardamom and brown sugar roasted carrot carry me to the finish.

ROMA CRAFT BAKA REVIEW – RICH
Summary: This cigar is a perfect size for winter, which warms my heart. It needs warming in the Wisconsin outdoors. Anyway, the cigar brought flavors of cashew, caramel, oak, cereal grain, cocoa, leather, some vegetal action, and a bit of a pepper kick.
Construction was right on point. Grab some of these for your winter smoking if that profile sounds up your alley.

ROMA CRAFT BAKA REVIEW – BEN
Summary: A sinus clearing retro made way for oak, earth, and dry cereal. The back end of that retro is full and creamy and feels like coffee creamer: Silky. Ash is long and strong. A saltine and english black tea pinky raising moment appears which gives leeway to a date or raisin sweetness. For such a short stick, there was flavor through til the end.

ROMA CRAFT BAKA REVIEW – TED
Summary: My cigar started with a sharp note of oak mixed with mild tobacco, a dash of white pepper, coffee with just a bit of sweetener, and a bready-vegetal note. Imagine carrot cake with no sugar.
As I started the middle section I tasted a profile of oak, walnut, and black coffee. All of those notes were a little bit sharp and bordering on bitter. Further in, it did smooth out just a little bit, and there was just the slightest hint of sweetness.
Towards the end, the wood note leaned more towards generic and the flavors of dark toasted bread moved further towards the front of the profile. The vegetal note remained relatively strong in the last section, and the strength of the cigar definitely kicked up as well.
If You Like That, You Might Like This: Cigars sized perfectly for a short commute in the mobile lounge.
Pairing Suggestion: Coffee with cream in the morning or a gin and tonic in the afternoon.
Perceived Strength: Medium
Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: Single
Participants in this blind review were completely unaware of the cigar they were evaluating until all submissions were received and processed. Each participant was asked to answer a summary paragraph, an if/than statement, a pairing suggestion, and a purchase suggestion. Cigars were provided by Small Batch with only the expectations of candid responses. All pictures, information, and formatting were completed by a Coordinator outside of the reviewing process.
