LA AURORA ESPECIALES REVIEW – DOM

Summary: The smaller ring gauge and notes of peanut and pepper peg this as a savory snack-cigar.  Unfortunately, it'll be difficult to satisfy my cravings; review wise, I feel like a bald Samson as allergies are only allowing me to retro hale out of one blow hole.

Halfway down, the pepper prompts a sneeze which frees up my tasting senses enough to scent out a floral note.  Vanilla wafer joins the peanuttiness to create a textured, medium-bodied smoke.

LA AURORA ESPECIALES REVIEW – RICH

Summary: This cigar brought notes of black pepper, jalapeno, cinnamon, hickory, and some vegetal notes. It was on the spicier side of things, that's for sure.

I didn't have any issues with construction. Burn was sharp and draw was on point. It performed well.

LA AURORA ESPECIALES REVIEW – BEN

Summary: Opened up with moments where it smelled like fresh cut grass, but actually tasted like oak. Midway to the second half, tea leaves and almond enter the chat. And, just like clockwork, here comes the cream!  Wasn’t sweet but smooth in the first half.

Second half has a little hay, toffee, and cayenne pepper on the retro. The top of my tongue is tingly. Finished this off with a bready note.

LA AURORA ESPECIALES REVIEW – TED

Summary:  Looks like a corona gorda vitola cigar this week with a habano wrapper?  There are my only guesses this week. Light resistance in the draw.  Let’s get educated.

Out of the gate, a slightly mineral laden mixture of cereal grain, leather, mild baking spice, caramel, cedar and some pepper heat in the sinuses.  Very smooth.  Very good smoke production.
Entering the middle of this cigar and wow, strength kicked up like this stick is on the juice!  None of the flavors have shifted much for me but the mineral note is gone, and the mixture is just overall much more bold.  I was not expecting this at all.  I better add that while the strength has jumped, it’s also smoothed out even more than the first third.

Alright, this stick keeps punching like it is UFC’s Max Holloway.  Lots of strength in the final portion.  The profile is a smooth and powerful mixture of wood notes, caramel, wheat toast, grilled pork, and mild white pepper.  That pepper spice is lingering into the finish as well.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: Smooth cigars at the end of a 5 stick day

Pairing Suggestion: Gentleman Jack

Perceived Strength: Full

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: Box

Participants in this blind review were completely unaware of the cigar they were evaluating until all submissions were received and processed. Each participant was asked to answer a summary paragraph, an if/than statement, a pairing suggestion, and a purchase suggestion. Cigars were provided by Small Batch with only the expectations of candid responses. All pictures, information, and formatting were completed by a Coordinator outside of the reviewing process.
