I hope everyone is having an awesome weekend! I’m about to jumpstart mine right to a big W by lighting up one of my favorite cigars to drop in the last few months.
Skyflower is an annual, limited production cigar released by Warped just in time for the holidays each year. It’s always fun to try, and the flavor profile is iconic in a way that really speaks to the season itself. That’s one of the reasons that we included it in our recent Season’s Memories pack.
And, while this isn’t the first year that I’ve purchased a box, it is the first year that I’ve regretted my purchase. I should’ve snagged at least two boxes!
The 2019 Skyflower begins and ends with rich chocolate, toasted graham cracker, and a creamy texture. A friend once described it as a S’more, and I couldn’t agree any s’more! The impressions of toasted graham crackers are especially potent in Skyflower, making it one of the most unique blends on the market.

Have you read our Interview with Kyle Gellis of Warped Cigars yet? It's legit!
What really sets this year’s Skyflower apart, though, is the congruence of flavors. Usually I find that one sensation dominates the profile, with the others eventually taking turns over time. But rather than competing for time in the limelight, our tasting notes today are melding together to form a commanding profile that harmonizes like an A Cappella group.
I’m not sure if it’s last year’s crop, a tweak on the production floor, or a happy accident, but this is my favorite Skyflower to date. Superb job, Señor Gellis! My only gripe would be a handful of relights each time, but this juice is absolutely worth the squeeze.
Recommendations:
Unfortunately, Skyflower is currently sold out in the traditional sense of five-packs and boxes. We do, however, still have a few samplers that include this incredible cigar:
If you enjoyed previous releases of Skyflower, I can’t recommend enough that you try the 2019 blend. And if you’ve never before offered a Skyflower as a sacrifice to the cigar gods, I can’t imagine a better time than now!
For a drink recommendation, I’m going to suggest something as simple as carbonated water. The profile speaks for itself and has a beautiful voice. I’ve paired it with an Americano, though, and it was pretty damn good too.
And if you’re dead set on pairing this gem with a higher octane pour, you can’t go wrong with some Angel’s Envy Caribbean Rum Cask Finished Rye.
