MAESTRO DEL TIEMPO REVIEW – CALIFORNIA

Summary:  This stick starts with chocolatey goodness and hay.  Cream, red pepper, and a slight tingling sensation on the tongue.  Tantalizing.  Citrus notes add to the complexity.

Second third starts with mint.  The zing on the tongue is gone and the mouthfeel is more on the chalky side now.  Grape jelly?  Definitely some kind of fruity sweetness throughout.

The final third begins with peanut butter--a great compliment to the aforementioned jelly.  The variety of flavors in this one was definitely enjoyable.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: Peanut Butter Jelly Time!

Pairing Suggestion: Rum.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: Fiver.

MAESTRO DEL TIEMPO REVIEW – WISCONSIN

Summary:  This cigar brought flavors of toasted nuts, earth, bread, oak, dark chocolate, and a bit of coffee. The profile didn't really change throughout the length of the stick, but it was an enjoyable profile that I'd be glad to smoke again.

The burn and draw were both on point; no issues with construction to speak of.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: Dark chocolate and nuts.

Pairing Suggestion: Coffee.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: Five-pack.

MAESTRO DEL TIEMPO REVIEW – OREGON

Summary:  This cigar was wrapped with a milk chocolate colored wrapper offering some barnyard, green apple and dry hay scents.  The cold draw resistance was just right and tasted like dried apple rings and dry hay.

Initial flavors included oak, walnut, leather, cocoa powder and some floral notes far forward in the mix.  Unfortunately, within the first inch the flavors were buried with some bitter tobacco flavor and what I can only describe as pungent floral notes.

Middle of the cigar featured more oak, walnut and floral notes, none of which were super distinctive, but clear enough to allow detection in the mix.  The flavors just tasted jumbled, if that makes sense.

The very end of this stick had some redeeming notes of roasted mixed nuts, coffee and leather, but, maybe too little too late.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: Finding that socket you’ve been missing, rusted in the bed of your truck.

Pairing Suggestion: Guinness.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: Single.

Participants in this blind review were completely unaware of the cigar they were evaluating until all submissions were received and processed. Each participant was asked to answer a summary paragraph, an if/than statement, a pairing suggestion, and a purchase suggestion. Cigars were provided by Small Batch with only the expectations of candid responses. All pictures, information, and formatting were completed by a Coordinator outside of the reviewing process.
