THE PUNISHER REVIEW – CALIFORNIA

Summary: Though the draw is a tad snug, the initial notes of milk chocolate and pepper are pleasant.  Salted peanuts. An inch down and the burn line is top notch.  Flavor wise however, it fell off a cliff.  I’m hoping the blandness is the calm before a flavor-bomb storm, but the odds aren’t great.  Corn flakes.

I’m past the halfway point now and still in neutral waters.  Three inches to go and my palate is getting hot.  This would be a good smoke while working in the yard or drinking something strong.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: Fried rice made with brown rice.

Pairing Suggestion: Moonshine.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: Single.

THE PUNISHER REVIEW – WISCONSIN

Summary: Big ol' flavors of earth, leather, pepper, and oak dominated this cigar. Background notes of raisin, brown sugar, and charred meat joined in the fun. The flavors worked together harmoniously and created an enjoyable experience.

The draw was right on point. The burn needed two touch-ups, though otherwise it combusted well. Smoke poured out of this cigar.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: Cooking meat on a charcoal grill.

Pairing Suggestion: Bourbon.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: 5-pack.

THE PUNISHER REVIEW – OREGON

Summary: This cigar is offering big, heavy barnyard scents off the wrapper.  The cold draw is a nice balanced mixture of sweet bread notes, dry hay and just a little bit of raisin.

Starting off with sweet bread, cocoa, wood, orange zest and black pepper.  The early retro hale…a sweet mixture of orange and cinnamon with some pepper spice.

Applying a pretty good burn correction in the middle.  Flavors are leaning towards a more generic mix, but it’s still good.  Charred wood and earth hold the lions share of the profile and are shrouded with a sweet cinnamon note.  The retro hale is an odd mixture of sweet wood notes with bitter cocoa and orange peel in the finish.

Final section is still rather generic but is remains enjoyable.  Wood and earth notes dominate.  I’m tasting mild baking spices and a slightly bitter finish.  Strong leather notes drift in and out of the mixture as well.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: Finding a treasure at an estate sale, with a sold tag on it.

Pairing Suggestion: Martini.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: 5-pack.
