PATINA MADURO REVIEW – CALIFORNIA

Summary:  This cigar has some mass to it.  Substantial hand-feel if you will.  The first flavor I can distinctly decipher is green pepper.  Love me some jalapenos.  Chocolate and banana now.  I have a strange hankering to drink something fizzy which I don't think I've had when smoking before.

The second third transitions to nuttiness and coffee.  I'm still getting that delicious chocolate by the way.

Final third.  The chocolate is more semi-sweet than milk now.  Solid ash throughout and something like cherry at the finish.

If You Like That, You Might Like This:  Rafting on the river.

Pairing Suggestion:  Ginger ale.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend:  Box.

PATINA MADURO REVIEW – WISCONSIN

Summary:  This cigar brought notes of chocolate, pepper, cream, umami, anise, baking spices, gingerbread, and oak. The first half had a significant amount of sweet chocolate, and the second half became more oak-forward. There was a nice mix of sweet and savory notes throughout.

Construction-wise, the draw was on point and the burn was good. No construction issues to speak of.

I really enjoyed smoking this.

If You Like That, You Might Like This:  Hot chocolate.

Pairing Suggestion:  Coffee.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend:  Box.

PATINA MADURO REVIEW – OREGON

Summary:  Milk chocolate and vanilla lead the way with this week’s stick.  Nice. This is a big smoke... 6x60?  Coffee and cardamom in the background. Overall start is quite mild but very smooth.  Lots of sweetness in this mix.  I’d call this cigar, approachable.

Midway mark and creamy smooth is the descriptor.  Leather, cream, vanilla and cocoa.  The first part produced a ton of smoke and solid ash.  Smoke is dropping off a touch, but still decent.  Just a hint of tingling spice in the palate now as well.  Headed to the final third, let’s toss in some sweet nuttiness... like cashew or sweetened almond.

Home stretch... still hanging on to that sweet profile full of vanilla, cocoa and nuts.  Add in some mild tobacco, a minty finish in the retro hale and just a bit of spiciness.  If large ring gauges are your thing, grab em. I’d like to have seen more smoke production in the last half.

If You Like That, You Might Like This:  Cigars that challenge the norm.

Pairing Suggestion:  Water...don’t overdo it with this mild, complex smoke full of nuances.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend:  5-pack.
