FUENTE DON CARLOS REVIEW – CALIFORNIA
Summary: The wrapper is toothy and mottled, so I hope the band reflects that "old world" look. Coriander on the cold draw. Leather, dry wood, and cream. Orange citrus and cloves brighten things up. While the flavors sound enjoyable, the mouthfeel is a tad on the dry side.
More orange as I start the second third. The wrapper is cracking slightly, but there are no signs of it unraveling. Pumpkin? Huh.
For the final third, I'm reaching to find tasting notes. Just not for my palate.
If You Like That, You Might Like This: Old clocks.
Pairing Suggestion: Strong rum.
Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: Single.
FUENTE DON CARLOS REVIEW – WISCONSIN
Summary: This cigar brings a lot of woody flavors - cedar and oak. Chocolate, hay, cream, light pepper, and citrus also make appearances. Early on, I’m reminded of chocolate cheesecake. That fades quickly and wood dominates. The cigar becomes dry.
The draw gave no issues at all. The burn got quite uneven at times.
If You Like That, You Might Like This: Lots of woody notes.
Pairing Suggestion: Sweet Tea.

FUENTE DON CARLOS REVIEW – OREGON
Summary: I like the weight of this cigar in my hand. Feels perfectly packed. Oak, toasted almond, green apple, and mild baking spices start this trip...smoke is very light and wispy. The profile is very light. Not what I expected. Starting to get some some sweet notes long in the finish. Sorta feels like this cigar hit the snooze button.
Midway mark...this stick just woke up! Smoke is rolling and the profile is more pronounced as well. Toasted almonds with cinnamon, mild oak, mild floral notes and a caramel like sweetness in the retro hale. There’s also a slightly spicy leather finish on the palate that’s pretty nice.
Final portion finds this cigar drifting back into la-la land. Mild wood and leather flavors with just a hint of under-ripened green apple. Smoke is having to be coaxed along.
If You Like That, You Might Like This: Finding your favorite ball game food in stock at the store...only to remember there’s no baseball.
Pairing Suggestion: Any session beer.
