J.C. Newman Diamond Crown

In 1895, over 42,000 cigar manufacturers were licensed in the United States. J.C. Newman is the only brand that is still family owned and operated from that era, and Diamond Crown was one of the first brands released by Mr. Newman himself around the turn of the century. Diamond Crown was revitalized by J.C. Newman's grandsons in 1995 utilizing the innovation of the Newman family, the craftsmanship of the Fuente family, and the stewardship of the Oliva Tobacco family.

It's thanks to J.C. Newman that we have cigars packaged in cellophane for protection instead of aluminum foil. Following his innovative footsteps, his grandsons would go on to pioneer cigars larger than 50 ring gauge around the turn of this century.
