MEERAPFEL ERNEST REVIEW – DOM
Summary: After the initial puff of ignition, I admire the prickly tooth for a hot second when the darned thing goes and burns down a half inch all by itself. Milk chocolate wafer and a short finish make this cigar ethereal and unoffensive. Okay actually I’m getting upset by how quickly this thing is burning. With two inches left, I fully expect the cigar to vanish with my next puff. Peanut shells at the close leave me underwhelmed and underfilled. (A good smoke should fill you until you feel fulfilled.)

MEERAPFEL ERNEST REVIEW – RICH
Summary: This cigar brought notes of wood, nuts, pepper, grass, lemon, hay, and espresso. It didn't really come together in a way that harmonized - the notes were discordant to me.
Construction had no issues to speak of. It was a well-made cigar.

MEERAPFEL ERNEST REVIEW – BEN
Summary: My cigar definitely tastes like outside: musty and wet grass, but it tracks because the wrapper has this off-brown, dry look. It’s dry on my palate and tastes like ‘almost’ burnt toast without any sweetness in sight. Last third decided to give me some red pepper heat. Towards the end, it gets easier to smoke (not to be confused with better) but it’s too late for me.

MEERAPFEL ERNEST REVIEW – TED
Summary: Starting with a nice smooth mixture of wood and leather up front with an overall mineral finish that is stronger than it should be. A little further into this cigar and I now taste added notes of coffee, cream, and peanuts, which is a welcome addition to the primary flavors I’ve experienced thus far.
Entering the middle section and I’m still tasting some hints of leather and mild wood, but stronger notes of graham cracker, black tea, and unfortunately, that remaining mineral note. Not a fan of that.
The final section really isn’t changing much but the cigar is heating up rapidly and getting a touch harsh.

Participants in this blind review were completely unaware of the cigar they were evaluating until all submissions were received and processed. Each participant was asked to answer a summary paragraph, an if/than statement, a pairing suggestion, and a purchase suggestion. Cigars were provided by Small Batch with only the expectations of candid responses. All pictures, information, and formatting were completed by a Coordinator outside of the reviewing process.
