This February, we’re teaming up with Ben Wills @SistersInSmoke to celebrate Black History Month by smoking black-owned brands! Learn more about each brand below and check out the calendar of events for Interview dates, Insta Lives, and curated Pairing Reels. We've also curated a sampler with two cigars each from the brands below!

Black Star Line Cigars
Aric Bey is a former firefighter and long-time cigar enthusiast. When he wanted to cut his teeth in the cigar industry, Aric sought out the expert advice of Jonathan Drew who pointed him to the famed factory El Titan de Bronze in Miami, Florida.

Black Star Line has since moved production to another factory legend, Aganorsa Leaf in Nicaragua, where Aric continues his study of tobacco and the cigar industry under the distinguished Terence Reilly.
Alex Spencer Reserve
Once upon a time, Alex Spencer was a negotiator in a corporate environment imagining what it would be like to pursue his dreams. After careful consideration, Alex realized that his dreams revolved around plenty of time to enjoy cigars while being the captain of his own ship.

AS Reserve debuted with The Mansa in two blends, paying homage to the famously generous and wealthy King Mansa Musa of the Mali empire. Both the Natural and Maduro are produced at the Kafie factory in Honduras.
Casa de Sueños
If you’re reading this blog post, you know exactly what it’s like to enjoy a cigar at your local lounge while daydreaming about launching your own brand. You can see yourself getting off the airplane in the Dominican Republic, unwrapping bales of tobacco, smelling the various primings and varietals, smoking hundreds of test blends, deciding on a name for your brand, carefully selecting designs for your bands and boxes, and putting the final product on the shelf at your local Tobacconist.

A few years ago, a group of gentlemen from LG Cigar Club decided to make their dreams come true and follow through on the adventure of a lifetime! Aptly named House of Dreams, Casa de Sueños now invites you to "dream differently" with them and experience their Dominican cigars.
How To Join Us in Celebrating Black History Month
Starting February 7th, we’ll be highlighting one brand per week to learn more about the people behind it, the blends, and a special cocktail pairing!
Post your cigar experiences on social media using #TheSmokyTruth and #SmallBatchCigar to celebrate black-owned brands with all of us. We look forward to seeing you at the Live Smoke Alongs, and hearing your thoughts as you try these brands!
