“It’s a Cigar, Not a Marshmallow”

“It’s a Cigar, Not a Marshmallow”

We see a lot of things in the cigar world, but a common one on is to light up a cigar like a marshmallow. It’s your cigar and your mouth, so I’ll refrain from saying this is wrong, but I will say that there is a much better way to light a cigar and preserve the flavors. Cigars are a lot like coffee in the sense that scorching tobacco is as unpleasant as burning your coffee.

Less is More

Marshmallows happen most often with a triple flame. I won’t post pics here to call anyone out, but you see it all the time on social media. And these pictures/reels look amazing – except it’s at the expense of flavor.

Rather than setting your cigar ablaze like a marshmallow, consider using a single torch and keeping the end of the torch away from touching the cigar directly. The tip of the torch can get over 4,000 degrees.

This video will shed a lot more light on how to maximize flavor while lighting your cigar:
