I've said it before and I'll say it again: Small Batch has some of the best exclusives on the planet! Let's get acquainted with the ten cigars featured in our Small Batch Cigar Exclusives sampler.
Casdagli Daughters of the Wind Pony Express
![]()
Pony Express is a tip of the hat to our expedient shipping practices. The 6 x 48 Pony Express is square-pressed, creating a unique experience among the Daughters of the Wind series. In addition to the square-pressed treatment, Dominican Oscuro Ligero was added to the filler and a second binder was added from Nicaragua.
Tasting Notes: Rye Toast, Baking Spices, Cream, Finished Leather, Cocoa, Peppercorn
Intensity: Medium
Warped La Colmena Reina
![]()
We knew that we had large shoes to fill after the original Warped La Colmena Unico Especiales tins left the shelf in 2015. The answer? La Colmena Reina, a Small Batch exclusive modeled after the Unico blend but measuring an inch longer at 6 x 48. Sometimes more is more.
Tasting Notes: Cream, Honey, Cedar, Pepper, Graham Cracker, Dried Fruit, Nuts
Intensity: Medium
Davidoff Maxamar 15thAnniversary
![]()
This cigar was created two years ago to celebrate Maxamar Ultimate Cigar’s (our Brick and Mortar in Orange, CA) 15thAnniversary. It features an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over a Mexican San Andrés binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
Tasting Notes: Hay, Earth, Cedar, Molasses, Nuts, Umami
Intensity: Medium+
Herrera Esteli Inktome
![]()
Our first Herrera Esteli Inktome was designed to feature a higher priming Ecuadorian Habano wrapper than the original Herrera Esteli. The intent was to create a bolder, more adventurous experience for those that wanted more punch from Willy Herrera.
Tasting Notes: Pepper, Chocolate, Brown Sugar, Cream, Leather, Woods
Intensity: Medium-Full
Herrera Esteli Inktome Exception
![]()
Initially expecting to re-release the Herrera Esteli Inktome for 2017, we found a curious vitola (a flat press!) in the samples that stole the spotlight. We immediately realized that the Inktome series would be receiving a limited-edition extension, as this was something truly deserving of the Inktome name. In a world where accidents are rarely a happy occurrence, this particular cigar is the Exception to the rule.
Tasting Notes: Earth, Pepper, Coca-Cola, Leather, Molasses
Body: Medium-Full
Caldwell The King is Dead Sleeping Beauty
![]()
Caldwell’s The King is Dead utilizes a negrito wrapper that imparts strong sensations of milk chocolate or chocolate milk depending on how you perceive it. Combined with this our exclusive perfecto size, you get to experience an unadulterated smorgasbord of chocolatey sensations from start to finish.
Tasting Notes: Earth, Whoppers Candy, Dried Fruit, Baker's Cocoa, Mocha
Intensity: Medium
Davidoff White Knight
![]()
This cigar masterfully blends layers upon layers of sweet, spicy, and savory tasting notes together. I come away with something a little more every time I smoke this cigar, like reading philosophy and unpacking it over days. Don’t let the Davidoff white label fool you, this cigar packs a flavorful punch that must be experienced to be appreciated.
Tasting Notes: Hay, Mocha, Cedar, Buttered Croissants, Honey, Sourdough, Fruit
Intensity: Medium-Full
Guardian of the Farm Claude Le Chien
![]()
This past December we celebrated Claude turning five years old! Our second release of Claude Le Chien coincided with Claude’s birthday, and includes a five-year-old Criollo 98 leaf to commemorate the occasion. The same bold, spirited Corojo Rosado wrapper was included and only minor adjustments were made with the filler ratios to accommodate the five-year-old leaf. Claude Le Chien’s size also remains the same iconic box-pressed 4 1/2 x 48.
Tasting Notes: Tangy Earth, Leather, Floral, Spice, Citrus
Intensity: Medium+
HVC La Rosa 520 Maduro Short Robusto
![]()
For years we wondered what an HVC La Rosa 520 Maduro would look like until we took the plunge and pioneered it with Reinier Lorenzo as a Small Batch exclusive. The end result was equal parts satisfying and surprised, as this cigar kicks like a mule while simultaneously tasting conclusively HVC. The upfront pepper followed by a funky, earthy sensation sounds strange but was definitely the highlight of my humidor in 2018.
Tasting Notes: Pepper, Funky Earth, Molasses, French Bread
Intensity: Medium
Quesada 40thAnniversary Petite Belicoso
![]()
Originally a pepper-bomb of great renown, time has tempered this bite-sized version of Quesada’s 40thAnniversary into a cream machine. Now, waves upon waves of creamy smoke wash over the palate with nuanced impressions that form delicately balanced tasting notes. If you haven’t smoked this cigar in a couple years, you might be surprised how much it has changed!
Tasting Notes: Cream, Leather, Cedar, Honey, Nuts, Espresso, Bread
Intensity: Mild-Medium
