LE PÂTISSIER REVIEW – DOM

Summary: Chewy chocolate and cream start this cigar in the Milk Duds section of a flavor wheel.  Hey!  I taste hay.  HIP HIP...  Jorge Posada is the appellation I'm assigning to my ash tray because it caught the falling ash before my lap did.  Thank you, Jorge Posada.  Call me nuts for that joke, but now I'm tasting cashews sans salt.

Just when the flavors' bats seem to go cold, medicinal cherry steals home like a maniac.  The runner doesn't score, and once again there's not much action to note.  Checking my watch during the seventh inning stretch, the all-star construction has been the best part of this smoke.  One final pitch of hay retires the last batter.

LE PÂTISSIER – RICH

Summary: This cigar brought notes of cocoa and earth, with citrus on the finish and a building black pepper that first started to show itself in the retro hale and then made itself more known over time. Aside from the pepper note growing, it was a pretty linear cocoa-and-earth experience.

The draw and burn were both on point with no issues at all.

LE PÂTISSIER – BEN

Summary: There's something to be said about a great draw that responds with large smoke production on the first puff. My perfect opportunity to practice smoke rings and quickly learned it's harder than it looks. But I'm not giving up...

Fall baking spice and espresso notes come in bold but smooth in the first third, followed by an oaky aroma. A few more smoke rings attempts later, a faint fig and dark chocolate note in the second but disappear as quickly as they appeared.

White pepper on the retro hale and my last few ring attempts. Not bad. Its full flavor is welcomed and so was the baking spice. I managed to get a total of 4 rings out of it. Small victories!

Pairing Suggestion: Dark rum.

Perceived Strength: Medium+.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: Box.

Crowned Heads / ACE Prime Le Patissier Review

LE PÂTISSIER – TED

Summary:  Initially there are wood notes accompanied by a spicy and floral mix of leather, coffee, and walnut.  The wood and leather notes hang around a long time on the palate.  Not even an inch into this stick I had to deal with a tunnel issue.

Middle section just starting to burn.  So far construction and smoke production have just encountered the one hiccup.  Otherwise, spot on.  The profile has shifted slightly.  It’s a warm mix of mild wood notes along with baking spices, fresh bread, and hints of coffee.  The finish tastes a little salty.

OK, finally moving into the end portion of the cigar.  It’s a salty mix of wood and leather with toast, nuts, baking spice and light notes of grilled meat.  The retro hale experience adds just a pinch of white pepper spice and the wood notes become really warm and mellow.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: Spring afternoons with a clear schedule.

Pairing Suggestion: Irish coffee.

Perceived Strength: Low end of medium.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend: 5-pack.
