JSK Red Knight Lancero Review

Summary:  Sexy pigtail and a closed foot.  This would be a fun stick to give to someone who knows nothing about cigars to see which end they light up.  Beginning with green and black pepper with a sweet cedar finish.  I don't know if there's such a thing as a spicy chocolate chip cookie, but that's what I'm tasting and I want seconds.

All of the sudden this cigar goes postal with an arsenal of flavor pistols:  sweet rose, spicy Thai chicken, hickory, mint, and everything else I've already mentioned.  Now some cherry and cinnamon.  This wild ride of a first third ends with strawberry and anise.

Hopefully you didn't stop reading at flavor pistols because this cigar is phenomenal.  The second third features baking spices at the forefront and cool herbs on the finish.  Spicy strawberry.

The spice has dissipated in the final third and in its absence comes cream (lol).  Some saltiness at the end beckons a "Renaissance man" cigar rating in my book.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: Rock 'n' Roll.

Pairing Suggestion:  A body shot of your favorite whiskey off of Cleopatra.

Blind Cigar Reviews: Jas Sum Kral Red Knight

Summary:  This cigar remembered to wear all of its pieces of flair - it sports both a pigtail and a closed foot. Lighting the foot, it leads me to believe spice, pepper, bread, and cedar are likely to feature throughout this skinny smoke. That turns out to be a good indication of what's to come.

Flavor-wise, I got: bread, spice, nuts, baking spices, pepper, cedar, hay, slight creaminess, and floral notes. The flavors were mostly consistent throughout, and not very complex.

Construction-wise, the wrapper decided it wanted to unravel near the middle of the cigar. That was odd, though it didn't have a significant impact aside from me worrying about it. I had to relight once when the burn went out unexpectedly, but otherwise the burn was consistently good.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: Wearing 37 pieces of flair to work.

Pairing Suggestion:  Coca-Cola.

Blind Cigar Reviews

Summary:  My cigar was light brown in color and smelled like honey and graham cracker on the wrapper. Very nice!

The cold draw was a little bit tight, but it did have a mostly closed foot. For the record, it also had a fancy pigtail cap.

Warm notes of cedar, honey, cashew and a very light pepper spice started things off. Pretty tough to beat that! The retro-hale was smooth and reminded me of Honey Nut Cheerios sprinkled with white pepper.

The profile remained smooth as I approached the halfway point and it consisted of cedar, a hint of maple syrup and graham cracker. The profile finished short with a very light floral note.

The retro-hale embodied smoothness as well with warm cedar and very light pepper spice with distinct sweetness on the finish.

Headed into the final section, the cigar seemed flawless thus far. Smooth profile flavors continued with cedar, graham cracker, a remaining hint of maple syrup sweetness and a slightly floral finish. The retro-hale gathered a bit of a natural tobacco flavor but it was still sweet and finished with a very light pepper spice.

If You Like That, You Might Like This: Darts in a pub.

Pairing Suggestion:  BFK or a White Russian.
