Discussion Contest: Who Gets You Hyped?

Discussion Contest: Who Gets You Hyped?

Happy Monday, folks!

I just received my box of Lampert 1675 Edicion Azul and am beyond hyped. It’s got me curious how many other people look forward to releases by specific blenders or factories like I do. Is there something that you follow as well and have to try the latest and greatest from?

Who Gets You Hyped?

Indiana Ortez first entered my circles with the PSyKo SEVEN Nicaragua blend, but she produced other blends like Father, Friends, & Fire that I've since tracked down and enjoyed as well.

P7N is an incredible cigar, and an experience that I still seek out as often as possible. In fact, out of everything in my humidor I smoke more of the Patina Connecticut Churchill, Juarez OBS, and PSyKo SEVEN Nicaragua Robusto / Toro than anything else. These blends are my cigar versions of comfort food – always hitting the right spot at the right time.

So, when I found out that she was behind the blending of this Edicion Azul by Lampert 1675, you bet your ass that I had to grab a box and see what it’s all about. This time I picked up the Robusto size, but I fully intend to grab a box of Toro as well. Just like P7N, I expect the minor changes between the two blends to be something that I will cherish over time.

What about you? Have someone that you’re following these days and always want to see what they’re up to? We’d love to hear your thoughts whether it’s a blender, factory, brand, or region!

The Drew Estate personalities... Especially Pedro Gomez.

Indiana Ortez for sure. And anything Mo puts out for Patina is amazing. Matt Booth from Room101 has been putting out great stuff recently too. Those are my ‘buy these up!’ folks right now.

Saka, Skip & Mike, and Riste usually have entertaining releases.

Robert Holt working with AJ and his tobaccos has me looking forward to all of Southern Draw’s new releases.  Also, Jeremy with Casdagli using blends from many countries, has me intrigued anytime they have something new.

Anything Southern Draw gets me hyoed, but was especially looking forward to the release of the Manzanita.  Hoping for robusto or lancero release soon.

I get pretty excited to try just about anything new from Steve Saka, and/or the dudes at Crowned Heads.

Steve Saka. He has an unmatched ability to discuss his brands and tobacco in general.

Warped comes to mind for me or should I say, used to! The hype around Warped was real. I think it became more about Kyle, than cigars and the brand, but it was still fun when it lasted.
5/18/2021 10:26 AM
Saka, Huber, and Booth.
5/18/2021 6:20 PM
Huber and Brown!
5/19/2021 7:07 AM
Reinier Lorenzo (HVC) and a good portion of the stuff coming out of Aganorsa Leaf these days. I'm a sucker for corojo and Nicaraguan corojo in particular.
5/19/2021 7:08 AM
Anything from Warped or Kyle Gellis I know I'll need to pick up day one!
5/19/2021 8:58 AM

Anything from the Roma Craft crew gets me more excited than on Christmas.
5/19/2021 8:33 PM
I have been enjoying what the alec & bradley boys have been bringing to market.
5/20/2021 5:58 AM
Dion Giolito for sure. Although it’s been a rare occasion lately unless it’s an event cigar.
Also Riste. As long as it’s not infused with CBD.

I'm new to boutique cigars as my experience matures.  I'm also a member of Privada CC.
I'm intrigued with Blackbird cigars at this time. following Jonas Santana.  Their cigars are nuanced in flavor and well constructed.

JRE, Dumbarton and Foundation always seem to hit the sweet spot for me.
5/20/2021 5:19 PM
James brown and the black label trading company, along with black works studio. I follow weekly to see what new is comming so i get at least a 5 pk.
5/20/2021 5:35 PM
Anything by Nick Melillo gets me hyped. The attention to every detail, from the blend of tobacco to the artwork on the box is amazing. A few years ago I smoked a tabernacle for the first time and have kept both a box of that and the wise man in my humidor ever since.

RyJ and CAO

Definitely always excited to try a new blend by HVC cigars! Big fan of most everything they do (except the San Isidro line). Really tasty stuff!

I’m all about Casdagli. Gets me ready to smoke.
