Jason Dumont Review

Summary:  The cold draw reminds me of apple sauce for some reason.  Lighting up, I get more traditional notes of cedar, milk chocolate, and cream.  Half an inch in and the flavors fell off a cliff; there's not much more than some saltiness.  Where this cigar lacks in complexity, it makes up for in construction (stacking dimes over here).

Leather and chocolate milk in the second third.  I'm searching everywhere for flavor notes to talk about but they're currently winning the hide and seek championship.

Final third.  Leather and cinnamon is all I can scavenge up.

If You Like That, You Might Like This:  Valentine's Day chocolate.

Pairing Suggestion:  Rum.

Blind Cigar Reviews at Small Batch Cigar

Summary:  This cigar brought flavors of cream, black pepper, bread, cedar, cocoa, and a bit of charred meat. The profile didn't change significantly; the biggest shifts happened a few times when the cedar notes kicked into high gear and then dropped back off. The occasional spikes of cedar weren't my jam.

The draw was on the loose side, but nothing problematic. The burn was spot-on throughout the whole cigar. The cigar had a lot of give when squeezing it.

I found this cigar to be generally fine, but unmemorable. I wouldn't likely reach for it again with the large number of excellent cigars out there to try.

If You Like That, You Might Like This:  Cocoa by the fire, but the cocoa isn't the really good stuff.

Pairing Suggestion:  Coffee.

Blind Cigar Reviews by SmallBatchCigar.com

Summary:  Interesting cap on this cigar; it’s semi flat.  This should be a giveaway to the identity of it but I’m not sensing any clarity on what this cigar may be.  It has what I would call a smooth and medium oily wrapper.  Very mild scent of baking spice from the wrapper and the foot offers little more.  The cold draw feels a shade on the tight side.

Whoa.  Let’s just start the note taking now because oatmeal cookie, oak, cinnamon and white pepper all join to create a fantastic start to this cigar.  There’s also some cardamom, leather and just a hint of citrus in the finish.  The retro hale smoke is full of that white pepper spice and citrusy leather flavors.  Very nice.

The middle offers flavors that seem a touch muted, but they aren’t bad at all.  I get creamy citrus notes with leather and a mild mix of wood, pepper and baking spice.  The citrus flavors have a long, mellow finish which I actually find enjoyable. B+ on construction.  Great burn and smoke, I just wish the draw was more open.

Working towards the end and it’s a mixture of the first and middle section.  A mixture of mild wood and citrus joins the oatmeal cookie flavor with a mild white pepper finish.  The retro hale is smooth and full of leather and mild white pepper.

If You Like That, You Might Like This:  Splitting aces at blackjack and pulling a king from the deck.

Pairing Suggestion:  A lager will let the flavors shine.

Purchase Recommendation to a Friend:  Box.
